Be Patient

Pope John Paul II
I remember seeing him when I was 2-years-old.
He came to Chicago and my mom and dad took me to see him.
We were in Grant Park.
I remember sitting in my stroller and looking at the backs of people's knees.
It's just a memory.
I remember white balloons released into the air.
I remember my dad lifting me up on his shoulders to see.
He said, "Do you see him? He's the one in white."
I remember him waving.
I remember waving my white hankey in the air back at him.
He was so far away and so tiny.
The Polish Pope told me to be patient.

He is such a cute, old man.
An interesting guy.
I wonder what he was like as a teenager.
I know he was very active.
It seems like he had a great life.
I pray for him and hope he is at peace.

Terri Shiavo
I have never felt such rage.
I have never felt suchj grief for one family.
What kind of man would reject a family their rights to be with their dying daughter?
What kind of man would reject a family their rights to be at their daughter's funeral?
What kind of man would just starve their own wife to death?
What was this man thinking?
Does he have any friends?
Does he have a heart?

There are so many disabled people in the world who are in the same condition as Terri was.
Some are probably worse.
If Terri didn't have a living will then how could the courts just take this guy's word for it?
Why didn't he just divorse her and turn the responsibility over to her parents?
How nice...stay married to Terri and dictate her life, but live with another woman and raise two kids with her.
What is that about?

I just don't know about this world sometimes.
