Growing Up

So the other day Tammy and I went to a meeting.
A meeting at Ashlee's school about a 7th grade trip.
To where?
New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
Our 13 year old gone for a week by herself.
Is she responsible enough?
Will she behave?
Can she...or we...handle this?

On the same day...
The 9 year old asks...
Can I shave my legs?

What?!?!?

One wants to get away
And the other wants to turn into a teenager.
I can't handle these decisions.
Don't kids come with a manual or something?
Seriously.

Forecasters return to form
The Free Press Except for a prognosticator or two, the Fearless Forecasters finally looked, well, fearless last week.
Hey, you have a great blog here! I'm definitely going to bookmark you!
I have a bonsai accessory site. It pretty much covers bonsai accessory related stuff.

Come and check it out if you get time :-)

LOL!!!

I, too, went on a school trip to NYC and Washington DC when I Was 14. It was a blast! I know that my mom was worried sick, but baf is right, if you don't let her go, you'll never hear the end of it! LOL

9 is kind of young to shave legs...then again, kids are maturing so much faster now then even when I was young ( does not seem like that long ago, but it was 16 years ago that I was 9 ! LOL). Just tell her that if she decides to shave her legs, that she has to keep up with them..that you can not let your hair grow like wild weeds on your legs once you shave! LOL For some reason, it was such a big deal to me as well, when I got to first shave my legs...it is like a huge stepping stone towards becoming a " cool grown up"! LOL You can tell her too that she will be shaving for the rest of her life, so what's the rush? LOL

As for BJ...poor kiddo..at least he is just into nail polish! LOL

Love you,
Sarah

My fourteen year old has no desire to shave her legs. She is so overwhelmed with homework, that shaving her legs would just be another thing to do.

She was pissed when I told her she needed to shave under her arms. Not that I should be telling everybody in cyberworld!

My almost thirteen year old does not shave her legs yet either, I have told her she could though as she has darker hair. And she is going to see four shows on Broadway and be in NYC for a week during spring break, with her drama class for school.

Kids do better a lot of times, when the parents are away. It is when we get to see if everything we have taught them, gets put into use. I love getting compliments on how well mannered they are. You will too Carrie! She will have a memory for a lifetime and a blast to boot!
